people constantly ask me how i watch multiple films a day while being a full time student as if they didn't spend multiple hours a day doomscrolling on their phones
This might be a controversial take, but if your film demands to be seen on a big screen with specific aspect ratios, and the experience is much different from watching it at home, then is it really a good film?
Watched a Hitchcock film in the theatre. The moment his usual cameo appeared, a guy heckled eager to show that he knew it was Hitchcock. He couldn't keep his cinematic awareness and cultural superiority to himself. He needed everyone else around him to know about his genius too.
i think there's a specific kind of empathy that can only be gained from watching movies. being exposed to a plethora of stories from all walks of life spanning generations, should at least fix something in you
