@kushshahmd Had one of these a few weeks ago-SIADH, hypernatremia and severe flank pain with worsening kidney function despite anticoagulation. Used 24 Fr Inari FlowTriever and took a huge clot out. Pain was gone and the patient fully recovered. Now to figure out long term management…

@VikramNarayan @mborofsk @ali_ordo@umbreite @urodocLim @EBMUrology@McAGES@mchlrisk @GiuliaILane Non emergency procedures can be deferred to let the patient recover and viral load decrease. This is a tough scenario and if pt gets worse, more ethical challenges will arise. Hospital ethics committees and local COVID command can/should weigh in. Don’t wait-set up protocols now
@VikramNarayan @mborofsk @ali_ordo@umbreite @urodocLim @EBMUrology@McAGES@mchlrisk @GiuliaILane Keep in mind we must minimize exposure-one way is to intubate in pt room with full PPE, keep circuit closed and then pt can be safely transferred to treatment room. MAC can induce coughing. Bedside techniques are great but effective, single shot treatment is best.
