Learned last night at my neighborhood council @theHSDNC meeting that the @target on Sunset and Western is finally opening next month and keeping its word to hire teens who live at @CovenantHouseCa!

If you can afford to give any amount, @WaterDropLA is dedicated to providing clean drinking water to our unhoused population. During these days of extreme heat, it is crucial that we help the most vulnerable among us stay safe and hydrated!

And if you don't feel like picking up trash, help out by walking your block on Sat Aug 29 and reporting bulky items, illegal dumping, and other street issues using the @MyLA311 app! Together we can beautify Hollywood & inspire others to keep it clean!

The HSDNC has #slowstreets!

The streets in green are for the local community to get outside and walk, run, bike, scoot, skate, or otherwise recreate while social distancing.

They are also intended to cut down on thru traffic which is a significant issue in this neighborhood!

UPDATE: @easthollywoodnc, @midcitywest, and @theHSDNC have all sent letters to @LACityCouncil Budget & Finance Comm calling for a #CareNotCops budget for LA. That's 13 NCs.

The Council's budget vote is tmrw, but the advocacy of NCs from across the city on this is just beginning.

@theHSDNC gave a us a grant to provide summer reading materials to Hollywood students, and we made sure Grant & Le Conte students received books in time for summer! #wearethechange

Last weekend @mayorofla started temporarily closing streets as a part of the "Slow Streets" program that we passed a resolution about. Here are the streets that we recommended. The red are partial closures & the purple are full closures to non-local traffic ♥
