@CableLifestyle Thank you, TheCable, for this interview. I was happy to share my experience with sickle cell and the steps the government and the world at large can take to drastically reduce the rate of children being born with sickle and provide support for sickle cell warriors.
I will continually lend my voice to raise awareness for sickle cell. We need to #AcceleAction to reduce the number of children being born with sickle cell in Nigeria and provide help and support for Sickle Cell warriors in Nigeria.

LIVING WITH: Trials and triumphs of sickle cell warrior Ibukunoluwa Ajayi.
“Living with sickle cell is hard, especially in relationships. Partners sometimes leave the moment they hear you have sickle cell, or their parents disapprove, saying they don’t want their child to marry someone who will make them a widow or can’t give birth. These claims are untrue because I have female friends who are warriors and are married with kids.”
For Ibukunoluwa Imabong-Abasi Ajayi, a determined and inspiring warrior, living with sickle cell anemia has impacted every aspect of her existence in profound ways. In this interview with TheCable Lifestyle’s Muhibat Sulaimon, Ibukunoluwa opens up about the struggles, triumphs, and what it means to live with sickle cell anemia.

@espeezeal@instablog9ja What an ignorant statement to put out there. Have my parents spent their whole lives caring for me & doing nothing else? Yes I get sick but who doesn’t? You knw there are worse diseases than sicklecell right? People are walking about seeming “normal” but have worse things.
@chidi_ik@instablog9ja There’s no cure unfortunately. There are procedures people can do, like bone marrow transplant and gene therapy, but these are not cures because not everyone can benefit from them and they also come with their own complications.
