No, I don’t believe husbands should ever force themselves upon their wives. I have never taught this and never will. Women should freely be sexually available to their husbands. Husbands should be to their wives too. This is God’s will for us.

Yes, there are times when it’s impossible due to sickness, injury, or after childbirth. Not being in the mood isn’t one of them, and women tend to use this often. We obey God whether or not we’re in the mood. Being in the mood isn’t a biblical exception. Decide to be in the mood! Control your moods. You can, you know. Stop letting them control you.

What I shared earlier was a one time event. If it was ongoing, I would have given her different advice, but it wasn’t. Her husband wasn’t a physically abusive man. Rapists are.

When will Evangelical leaders stop making “sinners” the enemy of Christ, as if they are holding back the agenda of Heaven?

They forget that humans, all humans, ARE the agenda of Heaven.

I think it’s important to note that God is a God of consent. God is a God of choice. God looks for willing participants, not forced slaves.
And God has demonstrated that giving us choice is the loving thing to do.

And if God wasn’t going to force Mary to have His baby, I’m not sure anyone should force a woman to have a baby.

When the life of a woman is at risk, when she didn’t choose to get pregnant, when there is no help for the mother, this choice is everything.

With Mary, God had called her, but waited for consent before impregnating her by the Spirit.

God gives choice.
