I’m building around a simple thesis:
Most local service businesses do not need AI hype.
They need practical systems that help them:
- get more leads
- respond faster
- improve their website
- capture reviews
- stop dropping opportunities
I’m sharing what I build and learn here.

not much reach for this original post. 8 hours left, click the link and vote. it gives you an idea of how Called It works. you can also join the public Beta and check it out. Feedback very much welcome!

I think people are confusing “AI posting for you” with “AI helping you write.” Nobody complains when developers use AI to write code, so it’s interesting that people get upset when creators use AI to overcome writer’s block. If the human is still deciding what gets posted, it feels more like a copilot than a replacement

it all comes down to one object: the receipt. it names who was right, names who was wrong, and it screenshots itself. points, not money, just bragging rights, on the record.
If your curious what this is, its an app Ive been building for fun. if your interested in being a beta tester for me in your group chats DM me
@gzdefiboy This is the real leak.
A lot of small businesses technically “get leads,” but there’s no clean handoff after the form/message/call.
No owner.
No follow-up timer.
No CRM update.
No visibility into what went cold.
That’s where simple automation can actually create ROI.
@rgk_degen The build is getting easier fast.
The harder part is knowing what the website needs to do:
clear offer
trust
CTA
mobile contact
lead capture
follow-up
AI can make the page. Someone still has to make it sell.
@theseoguy_ This is the gap I think a lot of local businesses miss.
SEO is not the finish line.
If the phone isn’t ringing, or the calls/forms aren’t tracked and followed up with, the dashboard is just decoration.
Rankings only matter if they turn into booked work.
@rostikdeni This is the version of AI local businesses will actually pay for.
Not “agents” as a concept.
A missed call after 6pm.
A website AI can’t understand.
A roof that needs an estimate.
A lead that never got followed up with.
Specific leak first. AI second.
The underrated part is that the website is only step one.
A local business with no site usually also has weak lead capture, no follow-up system, and no way to know which calls/forms turned into jobs.
The real offer is not “I’ll build you a website.”
It’s “I’ll stop leads from leaking.”
The best local business tech stack is usually boring:
- clear website
- simple CRM
- fast contact forms
- missed-call text back
- review requests
- basic reporting
- human follow-up
Then add AI where it removes friction.
Not before.
Quick CRM/process test:
Can you answer these without digging?
- How many leads came in last week?
- How fast did you reply?
- How many booked?
- How many went cold?
- Which source produced the best lead?
If not, that is the first system to fix.
For the next few weeks I am using this account to explore one question:
What are the simplest AI-powered systems that help local service businesses get more leads, respond faster, and waste fewer opportunities?
Building in public around that with BearPark Digital.
