Prosa (union for it proffesions in DK) has a really interesting set of articles this month, regarding "big it projects (stop doing them)": https://t.co/gXdDneZMGS
Billions and billions of tax payer money are being flushed out the toilet - and it's enforced by law! Public sector are not allowed to take on any project without a fixed predefined specification. We're stuck in the industrial age, throwing money on the fire to keep warm
The contract for "MitID" (national athentication system, to replace it's predecessor "NemID") is 700 pages, but nowhere in it does it state THE PURPOSE of the project.
@cvennevik I have both good and bad experiences in "mixed environments" (CRUD & ES), feel free to DM if you have specific questions or considerations you'd like input on.
@cvennevik My 2 cents: Besides "is the history of events important enough", another heuristic to avoid pain is: "Can [the part you might eventspoutce] be meaningfully expressed as a complete aggregate root". Look for process lifecycles and soft vs. hard invariants in those.
@andrewferk@alexbunardzic My 2 cents: The test is the fixture (static), the "spaghetti" is malleable (can have whatever structure satisfies the tests).
The number of tests depends on the number of scenaries to need to know/assert about the system.
Some areas might need a lot of confidence, some less so.
