Kiitin häntä hänen henkilökohtaisesta tuestaan Intian ja EU:n vapaakauppasopimukselle, joka merkitsee kultakautta Intian ja Euroopan suhteissa. Intian ja Suomen tavoitteena on keskinäisen kaupan kaksinkertaistaminen, mikä vahvistaa taloussuhteita merkittävästi. Keskustelimme myös yhteistyön syventämisestä tulevaisuuden teknologioissa, kuten 6G:ssä, sekä innovaatioiden, puhtaan energian, biopolttoaineiden, kiertotalouden ja muiden alojen parissa.

US Ambassador to Denmark Ken Howery on Friday afternoon placed 44 new Danish flags in the flower planters outside the US Embassy, assisted by embassy staff.

��I have been away this week — I was in Washington,” Howery told TV 2. “I participated in meetings between Greenland, Denmark and the United States.”

“I have followed the misunderstanding surrounding the flags. I landed today, and I am now placing 44 flags in honor of the Danish soldiers who fell in Afghanistan,” he said.

“I have the greatest respect for the Danish contributions. I know there have been many questions and a great deal of grief surrounding these flags.”

Howery also said that he and embassy staff hold Danish veterans in high regard.

“My team here at the embassy and I have the utmost respect for the Danish contributions,” he said.

“Unfortunately, my team and I were not informed about the flags in advance. Had we been, we would not have removed them.”

Territorial integrity and sovereignty are fundamental principles of international law.

They are essential for Europe and for the international community as a whole.

We have consistently underlined our shared transatlantic interest in peace and security in the Arctic, including through NATO.

The pre-coordinated Danish exercise, conducted with allies, responds to the need to strengthen Arctic security and poses no threat to anyone.

The EU stands in full solidarity with Denmark and the people of Greenland. Dialogue remains essential, and we are committed to building on the process begun already last week between the Kingdom of Denmark and the US.

Tariffs would undermine transatlantic relations and risk a dangerous downward spiral. Europe will remain united, coordinated, and committed to upholding its sovereignty.

It is also on this basis that we decided to take part in the exercise organized by Denmark in Greenland. We fully assume this decision, because security in the Arctic and at the outer edges of our Europe is at stake.
