Locally, people have gotten angry about leadership concealing their financial benefits from projects they paved the way for, lower taxes ordinary citizens don't get, and handing out favors to friends.

Root them out at the local level. It leads up the chain FAST.

I am a foolish optimist, but Illinois is in a terrible situation. Cost of living and taxes are crushing statewide. Houses downstate aren't worth a shit.

You either sell and get crushed on new housing costs or stay and get crushed by COL.

I just dropped several thousand on property taxes. One of our commissioners has all of his revenue-generating properties under exemptions. For one, he pays - drumroll - $89/year.

The rot is everywhere, it is being exposed, and they can't hide anymore.
