Second signing!! We start as we mean to go on!! Ben allan becomes our second player to commit to the lane, ben came through the youth ranks here and has played for the senior side, last year having a season with his mates helping secure promotion for syston brookside! #upthelane

Here we go!!! Our first signing under the new management team, curtis Wheat has returned to the lane after making appearances at step 5 last season, adam said "curtis is a valuable asset to the club and is looking forward to working with the versatile forward!

Commitment levels at amateur football has to be at an all time low. Lads turn up when they feel like it or if mrs hasn’t planned something. Other players promising to join but don’t or touting themselves at semi pro clubs happy to get a tracksuit instead of playing..sad times!

Here are 2 @NonLgeProgs from #OnThisDay 2001. (easter monday) . At 11am I was at holmes park for @BarwellFC1992 Reserves v Epworth (now @thelanefc ) in the leicestershire junior cup final. Then at 3pm I was at Oadby Town (@GNG_Oadby) v @BarwellFC1992 .

A goal 8 mins from time by Lane Legend Ryan Rowley was enough for the Lane to gain a hard fought 1 0 win in blustery conditions at Sileby this afternoon #backtowinningways

Goals win games and Desford despite the Lane having 75% of the game took theres. Going a goal down after 15 mins the Lane laid siege hitting the post 3 times but stoic defence and good keeping kept the Lane out. Desford to a man gave 100% and despite a last min penalty won 2 1
