As of April 17th we continue to pump water from low lying areas around the course. We’ve seen the majority of our snow melt with the exception of some bigger drifts. After pumping we'll begin working on cleaning up the course from winter. (1)
While we hoped this update would include an opening date for our driving range, with a forecasted winter storm on the way we can't give a definitive date. We will provide another update on Friday April 21st that will include an opening date for the driving range. (3)
This includes picking up garbage, cleaning cart paths and repairing vole damage to get the course playable. Sneaking a look at a couple of greens we remain optimistic on their conditions, however we won’t fully know how they’ve wintered until we completely pull a tarp. (2)
We currently can’t provide an estimate for the range or the course but we will provide another update on April 17th. This update will hopefully contain an opening date for the driving range and the conditions of the greens. (4)
As of April 10th the course is finally starting to see some significant spring melt and we are able to get around and fully assess the current conditions of the course. Our first priority is clearing the greens of excess snow and water to prevent any freezing. (1)
There are still significant drifts that are 4’-6’ deep in some spots that may take another week to fully melt. We estimate approximately 2 weeks of pumping to get the course to the point that our team can go out and start prepping for opening the course. (3)
Next we will focus on pumping and preparing the driving range to get it open as soon as we possibly can. We expect to be able to start pumping water from low areas within the next two days. (2)
A friendly reminder that our fall greens aeration begins the evening of Monday September 5th. We know it can be aggravating to play on after but its a necessary process to maintain healthy greens. Here's a great video to explain why it needs to be done @GolfTheLegends
If your favorite golf course hasn't aerated putting greens yet, they probably will soon. No golfer likes to see greens full of holes and covered with sand, but the many benefits of aeration are worth the short-term disruption.

Not often am I this happy with the course, it’s pretty pure right now. Extremely proud of our team and very thankful for the volunteers that came out and gave us a hand this week. @GolfTheLegends@jonjackman
Huge thanks to @oogyvalley for having us out for an afternoon of golf. Our crew had a fun time. Big thanks as well to @conner_mcgill and the rest of the staff at @RosthernVGC. Course is in amazing shape!
Some tarps have been pulled and our course Superintendent, @MDVCturf, is quite pleased with how the greens have come out of winter. We still have tee times available for our opening day of May 6th. Visit https://t.co/8N6go5xDsg to book your spot!
