Thinking about something. I believe prayer may well be our weakest practice in the body of Christ. Would some of you be interested in, say, a half-hour online tutorial (free & informal, of course) on the spiritual discipline of prayer & organizing a satisfying daily practice?
“I love the LORD because he has heard my appeal for mercy. Because he has turned his ear to me, I will call out to him as long as I live.” - Psalm 116:1-2
Too often - instead of speaking to the mountains in our lives, we invest in bulldozers. We spend hours learning to drive them, seeking our own solutions - when all the while the miracle of moving the mountain is in our own mouths (Mark 11:23).
What if we make this our prayer as we head into a new week?
Yes, Lord.
I will go where You want me to go.
I will pause when You want me to pause.
I will pray the dangerous prayers of change.
I will say yes to Your invitations that make no sense.
Just because You ask me to.
I am loved. You are loved.
This should be the genesis thought of every day. Not because of how terrific we are. No, God’s love isn’t based on us. It’s simply placed on us. And it’s the place from which we should live.
Loved.
