New laws in Afghanistan, introduced by the Taliban, mean that men can now marry girls at any age – there is no limit. Male relatives can arrange this with other men, and it’s only once the girls reach puberty that, in extremely limited circumstances, they can ask a court to dissolve the marriage. This is 79-year-old Robert Thompson from Bray. Robert is completely blind, but until recently, he has managed to live a highly independent life with the help of his brilliant guide dog, Rhona.

But right now, Wicklow County Council is failing him, and the entire visually impaired community.

For years, the audible signals at pedestrian crossings across Bray have been faulty. Recently, things have gone from bad to worse. The critical audio signals that tell Robert where the crossing pole is (the "wait" sound) and when it is actually safe to cross (the "go" sound) have stopped working entirely on busy routes near his home.

"There’s no way I would cross that road without the sound," Robert says. "It’s just too dangerous."

To make matters worse, recent changes to the local Dublin bus network (replacing the old 145 route with the E1 spine) mean his usual handy bus stops are gone. Because the council has left the nearby pedestrian signals broken, Robert can no longer cross the street safely at his local stop.

Robert is now forced to get off the bus early and walk a massive, grueling 1.5 kilometers EACH WAY along a highly dangerous, busy stretch of road just to find a single working crossing.

Robert has contacted Wicklow County Council repeatedly. They have acknowledged his complaints, but they have met him with absolute silence regarding any actual repairs.

Basic mobility and safety should be a right, not a luxury. By ignoring these broken signals for years, the council is effectively trapping vulnerable residents in their own towns and actively stripping away their independence.

Please SHARE this post! Let’s get the word out and force Wicklow County Council to do their job, fix the audio signals in Bray, and restore safety and freedom to Robert and others who rely on them!

First and foremost, our thoughts are with this woman. She must be given every possible support, care and protection at this incredibly difficult time.

But this cannot be ignored: this is the fourth serious sexual assault reported in Glasgow in less than two weeks, with two reported in the media as rape.

Not a word from the Scottish Government about these cases.

Where are the emergency meetings? Where is the reassurance that action will be taken? Where is the commitment to restore trust and show women that their safety is being taken seriously?

In a once thriving city, four serious sexual assaults reported within 12 days should be enough to demand, at the very least, a public statement.

Especially when the latest figures show recorded sexual crime in Scotland is at its highest level in more than 50 years.

This is an emergency situation. Women in Scotland are telling us they don’t feel safe. They are avoiding going out, taking precautions when they do, and changing their routes to protect themselves. Many are saying they no longer feel comfortable going into Glasgow at all.

Women deserve better than this. We are being failed.

I have been ordered to pay $95,000 in "damages" to two men in women's sport because I apparently hurt their feelings. It is potentially going to be doubled because I didn't pay in 30 days. So that is $190,000 in total to reward two men in women's sport. I am appealing in the NSW Supreme Court, so for now, there is a stay on the orders.

@salltweets has been ordered to pay a man $20,000 for not allowing him on her female only app. His hurt feelings claim is hoping to be challenged in the High Court. Sall is still waiting to see if leave will be granted for the appeal.

Jasmine Sussex could have to pay up to $95,000 to a man with hurt feelings who falsely claimed he could breastfeed a tiny baby. Her case is still to be heard by a Queensland tribunal.

None of these numbers include the court costs which run into millions.

Others have lost jobs, been censored, gaslit or threatened if they speak the truth or object to the lie that men can be women.

Men who wish they were women not only want to dominate our sports, spaces and services, they are also trying to make money as they go. It appears quite lucrative if they succeed.

Stand with us. Men are not women and we should never be penalized for stating the facts - especially in court where evidence and facts are meant to be paramount.

My frail 70-year-old disabled mother was arrested in her own home for poking a man 20 years younger than her in self defence as she feared that he was going to attack her.

Cumbria Constabulary has since admitted the arrest was unnecessary and that the service provided was "not acceptable."

In their own words the OFPCC official review of my complaint admitted that ...

"The situation was aggravated by the complainant's continued presence" So why was my mum arrested??

Recently, we've seen other tragic cases following police contact.

Every arrest has consequences.

Getting the right person—and making the right decision—matters.
