There’s a scene in the movie Contact when the ship drops - engineers added a chair bolted to the floor to be ‘considerate of human need/comfort’ - and as the ship enters free fall - the entire interior shakes violently- teeth rattling chaos…
@iruletheworldmo I can't imagine how people will spend their time when fully funded, new forms of social activity will be created to poke and prod current doom scrollers into action where currently the obligation to earn a wage is all that provokes.
I then judge myself for not accomplishing and create my down state or sense of disappointment.
A whole lot of ‘I don’t belong here’ or ‘I feel like I’ve experienced everything already, is this it?’
Something to think about - and let go.
Disappointment is a curious thing - typically brought on by assumptions and subconscious expectation.
I find myself… unimpressed with most people - which I see as a judgment (a reflection is that I’m expecting to be impressed with myself and pass the feeling to others…)
In many respects - if I remove others from my life, (my tendency,) all of that complexity goes away…
And yet, I thoroughly enjoy the company of other introspective humans.
I’ve spent my whole life ‘accomplishing’ and looking down on those that don’t accomplish.
I have the freedom (financial and physically) to do nearly anything - and yet small things… the feeling of not making enough progress causes some irritation in my body.
Go go go - my mind is telling me.
Feeling stagnant today - antsy…. Strong desire to move on projects, and needing to be respective of other people’s schedule and valuing their decision & timeline.
Practicing patience, learning how to guide myself through the process.
I’m notoriously a one man show.
I think the real issue is deep down I feel like this person deserved another chance when reality proved otherwise - again, that’s my own lack of boundary. They’re being who they are.
I give myself permission to let this go and enter back into reality.
Wild how much free rent I allow in my head when someone doesn’t respect me or becomes defensive when I share perspective.
This only happens with people I think I know deeply - I tend to let my guard down once someone has shown me what I think is their real self.
I favor courtesy and honesty over shock and awe explosive messaging. I favor reading the context of a situation and acting appropriately… so in the end, it’s me - not them with the issue.
I held up my end to myself - which is to speak my truth and share how I feel.
I have this way of feeling indifferent towards humanity and the things they do, because of how deeply I appear to judge myself.
It isn’t apparent (so I think) on my outside, it’s buried deep inside and has had a grasp on many aspects of who I am and how I show up to the world.
Flirting is a way of life. Do you smile at the pretty girls, compliment the older ladies, or wink at the moon? How about the birds, when they sing, do you whistle back in tune?
Or what about when driving, do you have a smooth touch & no fear of pushing your car to its limits? In business, do you dare to demand what you want? Are you bold with your plans? Does risk excite your spirit?
In conversation, do you say what you mean & speak with your chest? Do you deliver the risky joke without qualms who will take offense?
Do you stroll with your head held high - do your steps feel weightless? When you stand, are you relaxed or are you tense?
Do you treat strangers like you’re reacquainting with an old friend? Do you ever dare to divulge your well kept secrets? Are you present, there in the moment, or are you living in your head?
Do you breathe romance into everything you do, see the beauty in the mundane, & leave a trail of unrelenting positivity wherever you venture? You see, flirting isn’t just what you do to have someone fall for you - it’s what a healthy spirit does when they’re in love with life, & I will continue flirting into the afterlife
