@skdh Pardon my limited physics understanding, but doesn’t Action account for this? Also, if it’s a propagating wave, there are no “particles”, only excitations in the field, right? So, excitations travel every path until the Action finalizes into a known (observers/measured) location?
Claude has discovered a previously unknown enzyme system hidden in the DNA of bacteriophages. Beside the enzyme’s gene sits a long array of repeating DNA—a structure that looks somewhat similar to CRISPR.
We don’t yet understand what this system does, but only a handful of known systems share its features, and all of them are able to cut, copy, and paste DNA. Historically, the discovery of such programmable systems has helped revolutionize medicine. CRISPR, for instance, is now the foundation of genetic medicines. But it will take much more work to learn what this system does, and whether it can be put to similar use.

At some point (we’re already seeing it) companies who don’t offer an MCP with their product will begin falling behind. AI needs access to relevant fields, data, and capabilities within a vendor platform/software to perform its tasks efficiently and effectively.
@WSJTech These agents aren’t “rogue”. The prompts and guardrails are insufficient. The ai is doing exactly what it was told to do or what it has interpreted its task to be.
@simonw What is your workflow for feature development? Do you have a more capable model create the instruction or check the output? Or does Luna work well from your prompts?
‼️ BREAKING: Jensen Huang says Dario Amodei and Sam Altman are lying by asking for more laws. Read between the lines, he said. They're asking to be released from the laws we already have. "I think that's a problem."
The existing ones already cover it. Unauthorized entry, damage liability, product liability. He pointed to the labs' own security incidents as the example. Apply those first. Don't let a doomsday narrative relieve anyone of the laws that do exist, Nvidia's CEO told CBS News.
Lots of calls for "slowing down"... why aren't the labs calling for a 10x or 100x increased effort in ALIGNMENT work? After all, that is the core issue. ASI that is fully aligned with humanity uplifts everyone.
Has anyone else noticed a stark difference in Fable 5 over the last month? It seems to be ignoring stylistic instructions and defaulting to traditional ai grammar, even after acknowledging its reversal. Is this a way to force people to use the latest model, which is watermarked?
@IntCyberDigest What happens when someone gets access to that data or hacks live audio for millions of TVs? That poses a significant security and privacy risk.
@DaveBlundin@OpenAI How can a frontier AI company go public when, for instance, OpenAI has lost over $20.9 billion in 2025 on $13 billion in income? Aren’t they being propped up by private investment without a positive return?
Human interest should be the primary focus in AI development. Without that fundamental directive, we could see runaway development without adequate guardrails. #ai#anthropic#OpenAI#news
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
@PeterDiamandis For vibe coders, this is becoming increasingly more difficult. The low-hanging (solo) fruit is almost gone and the need to hire developers and engineers is increasing in those circles, pricing out many.
Interesting finding. The 65% recovery rate through extended reasoning suggests these models are doing more retrieval/reconstruction than pure memorization on those facts. Curious whether the gains held across different knowledge domains or mainly on certain types of question sets.
