Love this response from @PamelaSnow2 An active, engaging classroom has little to do with the true meaning of play. Play is so misunderstood. Learning to read can be a playful practice, but play is a reward in itself and has nothing to do with explicit instruction.

We can screen Ss early on to see If they are struggling, and if they are, we can provide them with evidence-based tier 1 instruction and intervention. Early identification and intervention are crucial for students who are struggling early on and or may be at risk for dyslexia.
@RayBoyd007 Exactly. That requires a leader to understand and identify point of need and priority. Not many in the system can do this. You are a shining light of hope.
