@gisdbuses It’s 10:20 and the bus has not showed up. I cannot get GISD transportation to look her up because she attends school in Mesquite and does not have a GISD ID number. My child has been waiting by the window for over three hours and no bus, no answers. I am beyond angry.
I find it funny/not funny that basically every single “special education” resource/program uses the same four stock images of people with disabilities.
When nondisabled people identify disabled people as “special needs,” what they are really doing is revealing their ableism.
Special needs are human needs.
Disabled people are not burdens.
If you are a “great teacher” but cannot or will not teach students with disabilities, you are NOT a great, or even proficient, teacher.

Read the blog by @DREDF Founder Arlene Mayerson and ACLU Disability Counsel @spmizner -- we can't let CVS get away with this #BackDownCVS https://t.co/5fk7Qf78wn
How is it that so many people pity disabled people and say that disabled people are an inspiration while trampling rights and justice for disabled people in every aspect of life?
This is so wrong.

PD: Screenshot of a shopping site with two changing tables. The standard baby changing table is $213.71 and the adult hanging table is $3239.99. (Both 25% off list prices.)
This morning, 100% of the students in our school were fully included and it was marvelous. Proof that it is totally possible.
