As National Disability Employment Awareness Month comes to a close, we're excited to announce the formation of the California Disability Leadership Alliance. The Alliance is made up of disability and Deaf leaders from disability-led organizations with the goal of building cross-disability collaboration, solidarity, and political power to influence and improve policies for disabled people in California.
Today The Alliance published its first report: State of the State: California Disability Policy in 2024. The report identifies policy areas like health care, education, transportation, housing, and employment in which lawmakers, state agency leaders, and advocates can partner to advance disability community interests.
