Because I am getting this question dozens of times in my DMs from trans people/parents... If you're trying to move for safety:
Countries: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Spain, France.
States: Any blue state on my risk assessment map, which I'll update post-election.
Some immediate steps I believe that all trans people should take:
- Get your passport. Today. It takes time to come in and this will likely be shut down under Trump.
- Update every ID your state allows you to.
- Make sure you have a supply of medication in case of disruption
yet another first of teaching! I somehow ripped my pants 5 minutes before my class started. local coffee shop was gracious enough to loan me a free sweatshirt. students were understanding about the late start.
I wrote a piece about the recent events at WVU. As someone who applied to WVU because it was the affordable option, I am so grateful for the education I was able to receive and heartbroken for those who will not have that same opportunity. https://t.co/45G28Lsq3F
Our website with actions you can take against the proposed program and job cuts at WVU is live! If you're an alumni, student, staff, faculty, grad worker, or just a supportive community member, there's an action for you. Please share widely! https://t.co/gdDe6JHvhi
