i shipped one of the first production mcp servers at a fortune 500.
not a demo. not a tutorial. real users, real auth, real analytics.
7 things nobody tells you before you do this 🧵
if you are a programmer and you'd like to start a company it is helpful to internalize two big weaknesses you have
1. your instincts for anything outside programming are terrible. everything you believe is likely 100% backwards
2. you've always been treated like the smart person in the room so it will take you a very long time to understand #1
for me personally it took ~ 10 years before i started to be able to unwind this
Great session hosted by @Ozacle23 and @gadekarjay30 🙌
Three things I'm taking with me:
- Narrative is everything
- Growth tactic: inspire, inform, instigate
- Work with non-linear people

@striver_79 If you start as a fresher or a developer with ~2 years experience, what would you do to grow in your career? Given all the potential agents have these days, what skills would u focus on acquiring?
AI induced imposter syndrome...
I had shipped products that have
- 12k+ active users
- $10M+ revenue
I even have side projects that have 4k MAU
But still, I don't feel confident in the way I used to feel 2 years ago, when I was a college graduate. That's mostly due to the AI used in my work. I wasn't able to distinguish what's my ability and contribution, and what's AI's contribution.
Hence started an interesting side project to get back the confidence that I can still architect/code e2e on my own
More on that soon 🔜

7. the protocol will move. ship anyway.
mcp spec keeps evolving. we shipped on a version that was outdated within months.
nothing broke. the lesson: AI infra in 2026 means choosing to ship into moving ground. waiting for stability is how you become the team that didn't ship.
i'm indira. i build and write abt AI products. more at https://t.co/QWriMSQM1X.

6. write your tool descriptions like prompts, because they are.
the LLM picks tools based on your description text. vague descriptions = wrong tool calls = users blaming your product.
we rewrote ours 4 times before usage stabilized. every tool got 2-3 concrete examples.
@NealGardner_ I still feel we lack elite full backs. Psg ain't winning 2 UCL if not for nuno and hakimi.
Balde has to step up and improve.
But compared to any other elite team, full backs are our greatest weakness I feel
