The race towards diversity and inclusion in sailing continued today, with the next in the series of events dedicated to driving equality within the industry.
Six panelists spoke at the event in Newport, Rhode Island, which was organised with @GACPindar, @TheMagentaProj and @WSailingTrust, and highlighted a range of issues and solutions:

‣ Abby Ehler, @TeamHolcimPRB sailor and founder of The Magenta Project described the benefits that diversity brings, but noted that rules are still needed to ensure women are included in sailing.

‣ Marie Rogers, Vice President, @ussailing, spoke of the need for stakeholders from local communities to be involved in tailoring pathways into the sport.

‣ Bill O’Hara, Principal Race Officer at #TheOceanRace explained how more women ate getting involved as race officials in this edition.

‣ Sofia Truchanowicz, International Judge & MD Harken Poland, highlighted the need for more women to speak out against discrimination in sailing.

‣ Imogen Dinham-Price, Sustainability and International Relations, @ImocaGS, shone a light on how the organisation is creating a pathway for women in the male-dominated shore roles.

‣ Chelsea Freas, US Sailing Meteorologist, Sailor & The Magenta Project Mentor, spoke about the importance of female mentors who understand the challenges women face and can cheer them on.
