Andromeda Galaxy. Our galactic neighbour. Photo captured 6th September a total of 1hour 48 minutes with an 80mm refractor and canon 600D camera. #lookup#skyatnight
@erniemccay Hi Ernie good to hear from you. I’ve been travelling a bit in my camper and getting work done on my house. Very little astrophotography sadly. Hoping to make more of an effort this winter. Kelpies and dolphins my latest trip
My latest #astrophotography photo. It's the Orion Nebula top right, Horsehead Nebula bottom left.
Taken over two nights this week. IR modified Canon 90D, RedCat 51 telescope, Sky-Watcher EQ6-R Pro mount.
5 hours and 9 minutes of 60-second exposures, 800 ISO.
This is the Horsehead Nebula (IC434). Found in the area of orions belt. That very bright star is Alnitak the 1st star in the belt trio of stars. Very light polluted making it a difficult process. Distance from Earth 1500 light years.
ED80 APO canon 600D IDAS D2 LP filter.
@erniemccay Thank you Ernie and hello. Cloudy nights have been my norm for so long now. I feel so rusty with my photography but your words are so kind and motivating 🙏
Trying to get back on track with astronomy and life in general. Dusted the telescope off and made an attempt at an old favourite. Rosette Nebula with skywatcher 80mm scope #lookup#nightsky#astronomy
#dontlookup Funny, symbolic, absurd and downright terrifying in its accurate portrayal of humanity and where we are right now.

Aurora Borealis over County Durham last night. Expected to be a much stronger display tonight but we’ve got heavy rain for the foreseeable 🤷🏻♀️ #northernlights#aurora
