@Breaking911 In 2022, the bottom 50% of taxpayers contributed only 3% of all taxes paid according to the Tax Foundation: they already pay effectively nothing. The problems are spending, welfare/entitlements, and those who use the state to distort the free market and crush competition.

I pay a lot of attention to freedom, and I think this country is throwing it away. This compulsion to trade our freedoms for security, which is an illusion of security, is horrifying to me.

54% of the country reads at a 6th grade level, which implies an even greater percentage of the country is economically illiterate.
This explains quite a bit.
Listening as people breathlessly call for even more government influence over the economy while also bemoaning the “failures” of capitalism is deeply ironic and troubling at the same time.
Once again, ending the welfare state would immediately eliminate most problems facing the USA.
