#BecomingDoctors#TheMavericks
As a registered nurse, pay attention to nursing students on placement no matter whether you’re their assessor/supervisor.
Remember you were a student once and give all the help you wish you received back then.
It never makes sense to me when students are made to feel stupid for
Put the proper ring on it !!!
It's DR OYAROMADE TEMITOPE (MBBS; OSOGBO) to you now
Resit MB1 (Physiology)
Resit MB2 (Pharmacology)
Resit MB3 (Paediatrics)
But MB4!!! GOD DID
NO RESIT, NO REPEAT
7yrs & 6 months later, I finally made papa & mama proud
Get in jooorrr🤩🤩🤩
An SR called me to see a patient at a peripheral hospital, a diagnostic challenge to him, I wore a pair of baggy jeans, cropped polo and peach colored face cap. When I entered, they didn't even want to answer my greetings. I solved the case but please, I can't wear a tie 24/7
It's ok to pay Doctors peanut or delay their salaries but it is wickedness when a doctor gives the excuse of being tired or sleeping and that was why he/she didn't attend to a patient.
All of you are hypocrites !!
I love the way litigation medicine is popping up.
I love it so much.
Since you doctors have refused to hear world, you're not getting paid right but you chose to be robin hood to your patients.
You'd be working in dysfunctional system, using towels as mops, using general surgery equipment to do complex peads and CT cases, water bottle as CPAP and so on.
Instead of letting the system die a peaceful death, you chose to keep it alive with your blood and that of your juniors.
Well, good news is that Nigerians don't rate you.
Shebi it's CT professor that they came to beat the other day, it'll be your turn next time.
Nigerians hate you and they'll happily sue you to death if you make the slightest mistake.
And nobody cares if the mistake is from a systemic issue or it's personal.
They'll say the system is working, so you're the one at fault.
Keep being the robin hood chiefs.
I won't be sad when you all find your way into prison.
As for me, I will never do pass my boundaries for any Nigerian in this country.
Thank you.
The Hippocratic Oath says "DO NO HARM."
But working 72-hour shifts causes harm.
Underfunded hospitals cause harm.
Unpaid salaries cause harm.
Where is the oath that protects the doctor?
Back then in school I had a consultant Nephrologist now professor who had a private dialysis centre.
During one of our final year lectures, he told us he closed down the centre because alot of patients after some sessions go broke, come back in really bad state and start begging him to do dialysis on credit for them.
He was a good man who couldn't watch people die and do nothing, but he has staffs to pay, electricity bills to settle and machines to service. He was running at a loss, so he had to close down the centre.
Sadly till date it is still happening.
People are Dying because they can't afford dialysis.
Poverty is killing us faster in Nigeria than the disease itself.
The doctor that admitted me last week deducted consultation fees from my bill because “we’re colleagues” and I was touched.
It’s really the least we could do for each other 🥹
I think it is now a norm to owe house officer's salary for a month.
MDCN will most likely wait for federal government to pay April salary before paying House officers their March salary.
We are not asking the right question, why is there a month salary short fall for house officers?
Good Afternoon @Nigerian_Doctor
The MDPA has made it clear that once ur license is up to date, you are a member of NMA
The NMA constitution recognizes affiliates
MDCAN - Consultants
NAGGMDP - Doctors in suctions where no Residency Training happens
AGPMP - Private Practioners
MWAN - Women folk
NADHUS - Doctors in University health systems
MEDSABAMS- Doctors that are University Lecturers
NiMSA - Medical Students (not financial members)
NARD - Doctors in training centres below the rank of consultants
In the NARD Constitution, CONMESS 1-5 are members. Those who pay dues are financial members and can vote and be voted for. Those who don’t lack this specific privilege.
In 2014, the FMOH brought out a circular making it clear HOs are members of ARD, NARD and NMA and this was during the agitation to centralize HO posting as a result of issues with CEOs of Hospitals.
In 2019, MDCN was given that mandate for central posting and then began the systematic brainwashing of House Officers as not part of NARD.
This started with MDCN stopping central HO Dues payment to NARD and HOs supported this idea.
MDCN has since made it clear it won’t give NARD HO dues and NARD has made it clear it won’t negotiate this with MDCN.
In 2024 January NEC, NARD made a resolution to still act and solve issues of HOs despite the capitation gap. They pay in some and don’t in others centres. Every month and year they drop out of membership of ARDs on their own as a result of a systematic brainwashing and posts like this mentioning “who are not your legal members”
They are members of NARD.
And if they want to pull out, it’s fine oh.
It means I don’t have to constantly be in Abuja to interface with NMA, MDCN, OAGF, CBN and IPPIS on their matter.
The PAT compilation with arrears has been done for them and it’s likely to come with April salary for them.
At least I have done my part as a leader, I have carried out my own part.
I weep for the day this generation of HOs will lead NARD, the welfare of the medical profession will certainly be in peril.
ND, find time and attend one NARD meeting and raise this issue.
Say we dey hold them hostage 🤣🤣🤣🤣
While na dem hold ARD and their President Hostage. Talk to the ARD leadership before saying ‘legal’ on social media.
Cheers
A month ago, it was "oath time" and the Batch A of the 22nd Graduating doctors of Ebonyi State University College of Medicine, walked up the stage for a meal of "hippocratic oats" and a complimentary handshake.
Last week, we became 1 year older in the profession and a step closer to churning out MOs. At your nearest teaching hospital/Medical centre, you might be touched by the healing hands of a maverick.

Where do I start from
Years ago a young boy came into the jungle of Hippocrates not knowing the battle ahead, I have fought gallantly and I have won the sacred title.
Tomorrow we start our journey into the service of a lifetime #Vencedors@The_Vencedors@Nigerian_Doctor

@Animashaun_ "A piglet looked at her mother and asked."Why is your nose so big," the mother replied."Don't worry, when you get older, you will find out.""
