@hodgetwins According to one source, these guys apparently had a fight at a convenience store right before this. Someone with a Concealed Carry Permit could’ve intervened in time, just saying.
@AdamCarriker94 Offensive line is supposed to one of the most experienced line in the country and they can’t push anyone around. Defensively, I don’t see any top talent, the so called Blackshirts look weak and undisciplined.
It can, but I don’t think it will. We simply don’t have enough money to compete with top tier programs or we aren’t willing to spend it appropriately. Also, Rhule can talk about culture all he wants. Bottom line, this team is soft, physically and mentally, and I think that comes from the top.
@BigRedfootball7 We should’ve let him go back home to Penn State and used the buyout money to purchase a proven coach and some good lineman on both sides of the ball.
I’d say there are several factors working against us. First, we haven’t done anything as a program in over 20 years. None of the kids today know or care about Nebraska. Second, we have a money issue. Other programs are able to purchase a team on the fly now and we can’t competed there. Unless Buffett leaves us his nest egg, forget about competing with dollars. Third, we never should’ve joined the Big Ten. This conference will never give Nebraska a fair shake and we won’t leave because we only care about the TV money. We should’ve stayed in the Big 12. Finally, we the fans share some blame. We keep drinking the Kool-Aid every year and propping these kids up on a pedestal before they even play a down of football. By the time they actually get to the field, they’ve been paid and are already spoiled, they’re not hungry and don’t really have anything vested in this program.
@HuskerMike28 I would argue it’s a coaching issue. Rhule can make a game plan that starts out great, but then the other teams makes adjustments. Here is where Rhule has been outcoached his entire career. He cannot adjust to the adjustments in a big boy league.
This is where apathy sets in. We’re no longer interested in Rhule’s lame excuses. He’s a used car salesman that duped Nebraska into a very lucrative contract in the beginning with not much of resume then…..and then got an extension!!! Husker Nation, how low does this program have to go before we the fans have had enough?
@SkersNews 4 wins is more realistic with this staff and the schedule in 2026. Personally, I wish we would’ve let Rhule go back home to Penn State. He hasn’t done squat since we game him an extension.
@steven_sipple Congrats to Matt Rhule, seriously. This guy took Nebraska for 80 million plus and even managed to get an extension……for this level of performance. Bravo sir. Scam of the century.
@Sean_Callahan Yeah, Utah has an interim coach that knows how to make adjustments. Nebraska has a used car salesman that took 80 mil plus to “ build culture “.
Until we ( the fans ) stop supporting this shit show, nothing will change. Every year, we prop these kids up on pedestals that haven’t played a down of college football. We pay them without having any resume. And how many time are we going to get bamboozled by these very average coaches and expecting them to win championships?
@steven_sipple Can we finally admit that giving Rhule a raise to stay here was huge mistake? We should’ve let him go back home to Penn State and used the buyout money to buy a decent team. But no, we’ll have to live in mediocrity for another five years. Next year looks like a 4 win season.
@AdamCarriker94 I think you and I have very different definitions of the word exciting. I really wish we had just let Rhule go to Penn State and taken the buyout money. 80 mil for what? 2 more wins per year?
