@jaspurr67@LifeofFitz NIL, Transfer Portal and Revenue Sharing essentially forces them to look out for #1. You think Pavia went back to Vandy for anything but money? You think Chambliss isn’t going back to Ole Miss for any reason but to raise his draft stock?
@ewayner2@LifeofFitz So you want the fields to basically look like desks on Mcafee’s show on ESPN? Cool gotcha. What do you think about the NCAA having active deals with betting sites to send them info so they can make the betting lines?
@LifeofFitz@WTXShk Factually inaccurate it is in fact about Cincy who knew and didn’t report violating NCAA rules. Had they done what they should have done then this wouldnt even be a think right now. Indiana who had a clear lack of control, Ass.VB coach who was there at the same time bet 300k+
@TrekDocFan@blong0108@dpshow In reality they can’t even enforce it because in the Iowa case where the BB played filled out the march madness bracket that’s a violation. You can’t tell me that it has only happened once. Rewrite the bylaws put a CBA with the place is the only path for the NCAA moving forward
@TrekDocFan@blong0108@dpshow Same when thamel was on mcafee, draft kings logo on a helmet up front. And not saying that sorsby is right, I played D2 ball and everyone it told the rules. Not excusing him, but the NCAA can’t enforce that rule for the “integrity” of the game and then profit from it too
@TrekDocFan@blong0108 In a fantasy world. If they enforced this rule equally we wouldn’t have to worry about the ncaa imploding because there would be no athletes on the field.
@TrekDocFan@blong0108 And you think that Tech won’t do that same thing. I get that SC has Hollywood money. Tech has oil and gas money. My issue in this is the NCAA full stop. How can you claim the integrity of the game and ban a player for gambling. When you have deals with gambling sites?
@TrekDocFan@blong0108 I am not intimately familiar with that and believing your claim, you just made my point. SC didn’t violate, received NCAA sanctions. But you want Tech who also didn’t violate any bylaws to receive penalties from their conference. This highlights the point Tech fans are making.
@TrekDocFan@blong0108 Key difference here is SC violated NCAA Bylaw as they were written at the time. And agree NCAA was wrong, but as an organization the NCAA violates the Sherman Act as stated by the Supreme Court and should not be the innocent victim here.
@TrekDocFan@blong0108 For what? Please point to something that Tech directly did wrong from a NCAA or B12 standpoint? They didn’t cover anything up. They suspended him when they were alerted by the NCAA. They are not involved in his legal case but have publically supported the individual.
@TrekDocFan@blong0108 Respectfully the NCAA Bylaws are not Laws. But you want other Big XII institutions to receive financial relief from this. So did you also want the Pac10 to receive relief when the SC Reggie Bush violations happened. Or the Big10 to pay after Michigan was stealing signs?
@mrlongshore@coachvint@mrlongshore would love to hear your thoughts for Indiana, the school he played for when he admittedly bet on his own team. And Cincinnati who according to multiple sources did an internal investigation and violated NCAA rules by not self reporting.
