I want Gaza to exist. I want Palestinians to exist. #CeasefireNOW#CeaseFireInGaza#CeaseFirelnGazaNOW
It's just the fact of the matter that a lot of East Asian Wasians look like me; we're both white after all. That does make me feel seen. But I don't share their specific flavor of mixed-race experiences.
I don't think people understand that being mixed race means that no one is culturally in your corner. It makes me happy seeing Wasians make names for themselves, not for idolizing Wasians as a group, just that knowing Wasians are, in fact, a thing, kinda validates my whole life.
dark-skinned Wasians or Wasians with dark-skinned parents, being the latter.
I don't identify with specifically East Asians, not being one, nor East Asian Wasians. That's not what I'm talking about. I mean to be talking about Wasians as a concept, which I do identify with.
I do think it's weird to put Wasians on a pedestal for beauty or quality. White-centric views come into play there.
But I don't take kindly to the pushback people are doing to Wasians by telling them to shut up and stop trying to be public. What on earth warrants that?
one's life that makes one forever in a really weird position no matter where they are. I'd imagine this is the same for all mixed race people, to varying degrees.
I don't think, therefore, it's bad that seeing a bunch of people who actually, truly look like you, feels nice to us.
I am almost certainly coming from a place of ignorance in some way; I don't feel everyone sees me as "Asian" enough to understand Asian issues fully. But what I can say for sure is I know my own issues, which I speak for when I say that being Wasian is a marker on +
@QuestionIsPunk1 @baguettenjoyer "He wants that cookie so effing bad" comes from this image but it's used in fandom spaces to mean "x character wants (or I want) to be with this person so effing bad". Jax just accidentally said it out loud in the last frame, which serves as an accidental confession.
