After nearly 7 years with NACE serving both in Volunteer Leadership, and at the National Office—I've officially wrapped up my time with the organization.
I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities, the people I worked alongside, and everything we accomplished together.
@L001Springy@1campagne I'm not making excuses for the team. I'm saying I don't think it's fair to go after the Varsity Program/Staff for what club teams do, especially when they removed the player from the club.
1. The amount of smash teams using mods when they are not allowed is a lot higher then anyone thinks
2. People want to attack Fisher for brownie points. Their student population involved in esports is several times larger then multiple other programs put together.
@mahalomerky I think the point that I'm making is. A school sponsored Varsity Team, is functionally different then a club team competing under the university banner. Club teams don't even compete from school spaces most of the time.
@1campagne Four kids at a school can sign up and play in the NECC. They have no in person requirements. They don't require the school to commit to supervising them. What supervision are you expecting?
If this was in NACE I would be infinitely more critical.

@1campagne By their statement this is a Club team, not a Varsity Team. Most/all schools only have basic oversite of clubs and give recommendations more so then direct supervision.
Attacking the Program it self over Club incidents is counter productive.
3. They’ve now removed the student. Outside of a couple issue I ran into with them several years ago they were fairly easy to work with and were on exceptional behavior at the LANs I ran.
I even reached out to Bryan after the Spring LAN because of it.
I've been wrestling with the end of our varsity esports program at @TAMUSanAntonio. For four years I led it, and this fall it became a student-led club, with me moving from head coach to advisor.
To follow up on my first post. Here is the difference in teams signed up from Fall 25 to Fall 26
Couple of notes
- NECC is the only league to gain in each title
- ECAC took the hardest hit in sign-ups from Fall to Fall
- Overwatch did the best to gain teams in all leagues
The amount of quote tweets I’ve written out and then deleted in the past few days is hilarious.
Not every opinion needs to be shared, and burning bridges for the sake of the fire is never worth it.
Our social media is an extension of our self.
Be kind, be hungry, be humble.
I log in to like 10 of these every time I boot up LOL.
Are these like slaps on the wrist or are they actually punishing people, because there's no way this many people are actually getting punished and its still this rampant.
@Myraabtw_ The industry is really hard. You’ve always been positive on any calls I’ve been in with you.
I have faith you’ll land on your feet. Keep your head up!
