They are currently promising 88 new homes in 2025/6 (37 are rolled over from the previous year)
Of 66 properties promised in 2024/5 less than half (29) were actually completed that year
In 2023/4, only 10 were delivered from a pledged 55
Since February 2025, Pam Marum, Labour Housing Champion, has been asking the Lib Dems at London Borough of Richmond upon Thames (LBRUT) why they have one of the lowest number of successful housing completions in London. LBRUT have a record of overpromising on their forecasts.
While the data itself is comprehensive and accurate, it is difficult for non-specialists to locate and interpret. A single resident-facing webpage summarising affordable housing delivery, forecasts, and major sites would greatly improve transparency and ease of use.
Pam Marum, Labour Housing Champion, has been pointing out how difficult it is for ordinary residents to find out about new affordable housing.
Maybe technology can help? To test this out, Pam used AI to review the information on LBRUT’s website. The verdict:
