If you cannot get past understanding the semantics of this sentiment, then I'm sorry but I cannot help you.

For a lot of women, let alone female content creators, dealing with men that have malicious intent is not a rare experience. One could argue that it's even a pattern.

The use of a term, that generalizes, is a result of those events frequently happening over a long period of time and it's for self-protection because when something like that happens disturbingly often, it's a safe bet to assume that it will happen again.

"But I'm not like that, I'm a good guy." GREAT, COOL. This isn't about you. Don't take it personally. Try to understand and listen. What are you doing to help address this reoccurring issue?

Her statement isn't inciting discrimination, but asking for our community to acknowledge and deal with a reoccurring issue.

The best way to show that you are not part of the problem, is to be part of the solution.

Sure, it is not all men- but it's almost all women in our sphere that have had a negative experience with a man. Are the women to blame? Absolutely not. They aren't psychics that can read the true intentions of every single person. So it is so much better to be safe than sorry.

Please do better. Listen and understand.
