Our cattle producers are under attack because NGOs are falsely misusing the terms forest & deforestation on agricultural land. Instead of doing what they should & suing them for defamation, @meatlivestock & their ABSF produce an epic fail & misuse the term themselves 🙄🤯
Senate inquiry into energy planning, my 10 point plan to energy security & sustainability:
1. Stand alone / off grid micro systems should be encouraged particularly in regional areas - home solar exporting to grids when power is abundant & importing when it's scarce is not sustainable
3. Solar belongs on rooftops / carparks & built environments, close to consumption minimising transmission loss - not on farm land or conservation land
4. Build real not pumped hydro - that also provides water for our cities & farmers
5. Maintain our existing assets!
6. Invest in R&D in simple technology that improves energy efficiency in manufacturing & living, cogeneration, trigeneration, waste heat recovery, gravity etc etc.....
7. Energy is a utility. Get rid of fake "markets" that are only serving as wealth transfer & costing our consumers more & subsidies for companies that provide non-firmed power.
8. Invest in new efficient coal, gas & nuclear secure power. Our critical resources must be available to Australians first & have a plan for our long term future resource security.
9. Expect the same standards of our imports that we expect of our manufacturers & primary producers - otherwise we are just exporting a problem. Manufacture more in Australia, exporting our coal & iron ore and importing our steel is not emissions friendly.
10. Encourage environmentalism we can all be involved in - energy savings via education, innovation, standards and good old fashioned values of conserving.
@FutureBeef @DAFQld @meatlivestock Great #evidencebased work! Make sure the results are used to rewrite the unrealistic, impractical #Reef grazing practice framework - which is used by @QldGov#ReefProtection compliance to regulate grazing & compile annual Reef report cards on ABCD practice adoption.
@GusWhyte Definitely one-sided! Scientists & indigenous persons wearing cotton clothes wanting to squash a viable ag industry in NT. Where do they think or want their clothes fibres to come from?
@PropRitesAus Ag land including land for livestock is exempt of the international definition of "forest". Prevent market transformation by env NGO's. Stand united on agric issues. Protect rights to sustainably manage regrowth, invasive woody weeds, clear firebreaks, etc in #rangelands
@benharden_QCL @qclnews Great news you are remaining a rural journalist with @qclnews . You are asset to the bush. Hope u enjoy the coolish climate of Toowoomba.
@Matthew_Cossey@MurrayWatt@APVMA APVMA needs fixing. Massive delays & some staff that do not understand practical use of pesticides in agricultural landscapes. Gone too precautionary & losing practicality.
@mattjcan Totally agree. #Reef management by Labor Govt's based on models with assumptioms lacking #evidencebased, ground truthed facts. Science reviews often select mates for peers, rather than wide cross section of scientists. Science credibility at risk.
@RainforestsAus @PropRitesAus How come @QldGov approves vegetation clearing for roads & pads for wind turbines on sloping ranges, when landowners are restricted on land clearing activities? Ridiculous!
@PropRitesAus @WatchtowerRome2 @PhotoAnnBritton Unfortunately #greatbarrierreef management has been hijacked. An environmental playground for some scientists that rely on models and misconstrued pure science, rather than #evidencebased facts and holistic approach to a natural ecosystem. Await resetting of the facts.
PRA fighting for the truth. Farmers are the best environmentalists. Calling out Activism from the likes of PETA and environmental mayhem from the rush to Renewables. Billboards make good megaphones,

No mention of abiding with farm biosecurity requirements in @QldGov Wind Code review, nor regulated Reef graziers responsible for maintaining 50% ground cover under wind turbines, if onus not placed on developers in Land Use Agreement. @LGAQ@AgForceQLD
Once again @QldGov caught in the act of leaving the farming community out of the consultation conversation.
Serious concerns about the proposed wind farm code have been identified by @AgForceQLD

Major bushfire near Cecil Plains & Dunmore releasing carbon from state forests & risking #CSGwells. Limited awareness & help from @QldGov for neighbours. #notgoodenough by govt. Implement learnings from previous wildfires in state lands!
QFES has issued a PREPARE TO LEAVE warning for a major bushfire heading straight into Shell’s Arrow Energy & QGC Gasfields, with still no word to landholders of the CSG safety protocols to follow @GasFieldsCommQ why aren’t you educating people instead of helping cover up risks
@SamDavi99667843 Albanese's referendum "of no consequence". Many rural producers will never forget Albanese mocking a farmer demonstration about carbon tax in Canberra in 2011 by calling it a "convoy of no consequence" https://t.co/usGWc2uhaE
A small group of affected landholders including @ZronR and @the_professor56 have advocated strongly to expose #Coalseamgas long term impacts on ag land. Time to make good over a long period, if subsidence can be fixed?
Three years after I first reported damage to our farm from Arrow Energy #CSG mining @QldGov has FINALLY admitted #subsidence is permanent and likely to badly damage farms like ours.
CSG companies may have to pay to fix farmland subsidence https://t.co/VnaN0xvvl2 via @InQldMedia
Important story on the @smh front page today:
A fire ant invasion will be worse than cane toads.
And 13 July is D-day, when @MurrayWatt & state Ag Ministers must decide: will they commit to eradication or give up?
