I have watched Dr Gikonyo under cross examination and what struck me is that some men reach an age where intimidation stops working on them.

On the 18th of October 2016, I bought a 12.7Kgs gas cylinder from National Oil at my local shop in Buru Buru, Nairobi.
On the morning of 19th October 2016, I lit the gas to boil water as I prepared my kids for school. Coming back, the water had not boiled and I resorted to using electric kettle.
In 15mins my kids were done with breakfast and off they left for school. For those that have used National Oil gas, new cylinders emit very little gas. I came back to the kitchen to make my breakfast, and when I stroke the match, the whole kitchen went blue into flames.
I got my treatment and while visitors streamed in, one of the visitors making some beverage noted that the gas had no smell. I notified @EPRA_KE whom in turn sent SGS to do an inspection. They did, and true to our fears, the LPG gas did not contain the "Ethyl Mercaptan" a chemical which is a foul smell that should notify someone of a leaking gas.
National Oil senior officials visited me in November and suggested for compensation. But after the meeting, I called Safety Director of National Oil and he told me to direct my complaints to EPRA. When I did, I was requested by EPRA to send a fee note to National Oil through my lawyer. I did and we got a response from their insurance APA on the 31st of January 2017. They eventually requested for SGS report to process compensation which I have done over 15 letters( frame two is the latest) including countless visits to EPRA and by omission they are technically collapsing my compensation. The court has given as 14 days to get and file the SGS report and the deadline is 14th of May 2026.

Finds V.A.T. on fuel at 8 %, raises it to 16%, then "lowers" it to 13% and finally to 8%... MATAK0 YAKE! Finds dollar at 119, raises it to 162 and then "lowers" it to 130... MATAK0 YAKE! Finds ID registration FREE, introduces a Ksh. 1,000 fee and then "scraps" it after 13 months in the spirit of listening to the cries of Kenyans... MATAK0 YAKE! Kiambu County has shown KRA dust.
KRA audited the county.
And found the county was collecting serious money from:
- Parking fees
- Business licenses
- Market fees
- Renting stalls
- Renting stadia
- And other county fees
Then KRA asked:
- Where is our VAT?
- If you charge 10,000 for stalls
- You should have added 16% VAT
So Kiamburians should have paid: 11,600
And the extra 1,600 goes to KRA.
But Kiambu did not charge VAT. So KRA became dramatic and said:
- No problem. You'll give us that VAT from your own county coffers.
It is at that moment that, Gov Wamatangi knew hii si mchezo.
He ran to court.
He argued:
- The county is not a business entity.
- It is a government unit performing public functions
- It does not operate for profit
- The county fees charged are already a form of tax
- Charging VAT on them is double taxation
- It is illegal
The court agreed.
And KRA’s VAT demand was set aside.
This is a big precedent.
It means:
- County services should not be inflated by VAT.
- Public services are not businesses to charge 16% VAT.

Your Excellency, allow us to comment on this post in which we are of the view that it has missed a few important chapters of international law:
1. Aggression originates from the U.S. and the Israeli regime use of regional water, air and land territories: Based on Article 3(f) of the UN General Assembly Resolution 3314 (XXIX) (Definition of Aggression, 14 December 1974), “The action of a State in allowing its territory, which it has placed at the disposal of another State, to be used by that other State for perpetrating an act of aggression against a third State” constitutes aggression. For months, we had warned neighboring countries—particularly those along the Persian Gulf—that any aggression from their soil against Iran would be met with our inherent right to self‑defense. Despite their denials, numerous attacks against Iran have been launched from U.S. bases in these countries, a small example being the downing of three military aircraft in Kuwait.
2. Violation of Article 2(4) of the UN Charter: The United States and the Israeli regime have violated Article 2(4) , which requires all Members to “refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state.” Their military aggression against Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is the root cause of the current crisis.
3. Iran’s response is lawful, legitimate self‑defense: Our response has been strictly in exercise of our inherent right to self‑defense, consistent with international law and the principles of proportionality, necessity, and discrimination. Operations have targeted only military bases and assets of the aggressors. After these military installations were struck, enemy military personnel and forces fled into hotels and civilian centers, taking innocent civilians as hostages—a gross violation of the law of armed conflict.
4. The Strait of Hormuz: prior freedom of navigation & current restrictions: Before the U.S.‑Israeli regime military aggression against Iran’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, the Strait of Hormuz was open to all countries. Any current disruption to Persian Gulf security or maritime traffic is a direct consequence of that aggression, and full responsibility lies with the aggressors. As the coastal state, Iran has introduced necessary restrictions to ensure safe passage. Vessels belonging to non‑belligerent countries may conduct innocent passage in coordination with Iran. Clearly, vessels of belligerent parties—especially the U.S. and the terrorist Israeli regime, as well as those serving their interests—cannot use this waterway.
5. Call on all free and independent nations: The Islamic Republic of Iran expects all free and independent nations to stand on the right side of history and condemn the aggressors. We reaffirm our readiness for diplomatic solutions based on mutual respect and international law, but will not hesitate to defend our sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security.
