Anita Mui held one last concert before she would eventually pass away from cancer.. I could feel her deep sorrow and regret in her final act.. It was a heartfelt message of a dying cancer patient.. Maybe I'll have the same sentiment on my deathbed..

It pains me that I'll be up again in a few hours to do the same chores all over again. No, I don't hate household chores per se, but it's my mom's endless nagging each morning that makes chores so much harder to do. ๐
I seem pretty motivated recently because I'm REALLY looking forward to my vacation in April. In the unfortunate event that my vacation is canceled for whatever reason, I'll be depressed again. Fingers and toes crossed everything goes well.
My mom and her mom (my maternal grandmother) are too obssessed in longevity, even if it means living in house arrest due to illness or disability or a life with no meaning or direction.
My strategy right now is to outlive my parents, so I can be free. I really hope I do, but I am cautiously optimistic about my own lifespan because I have seen many cases of people dying young nowadays, either from illnesses (e.g., cancer, stroke/heart attack) or accidents.
My life has been on autopilot mode and I am just sick of it. I have no motivation to work harder and earn more because any extra income just goes to the bank not knowing when I could use it for the things I want or want to do. I have more than enough emergency funds that it
becomes pointless to live a life for the sole purpose of saving for future hospital bills. I want to travel and explore the world NOW but it would never happen without drama at home because my mom doesn't want me to travel alone because it's not safe (like WTF, I'm a male adult).
what might happen to me if I travel alone, and they, being one of the millions of "functionally illiterate" Filipinos, are never taking the risk of losing their son. Anyway, I already vanished once. Who knows I might do it again. Only question is, when.
Sometimes, I just want to escape into a world with no noise, no hate, no negativity... far away from my parents... because I want to live life the way I want it -- explore places, go bowling, exercise at the gym, etc. Right now, my life revolves around chores, work, and
my mobile games, and I'm sick of it and feeling depressed. I seriously need a "mandatory leave" for at least a week, but even though I'm in my mid-30s already, it's an uphill drive to get this "leave" approved without having to argue with my parents because they are afraid of
of my sanity and happiness. They never really wanted me to be the best version of myself. Rather, my parents think how they could exploit me to satisfy their self-serving interests.
It's graduation season, and I'm envious of kids with supportive parents. The usual messages:
1. "I'm proud of you."
Very situational. My parents could turn from "proud" to "disappointed" super quickly. They could totally forget their proud moments with a single mishap.
we had no lack of it, and the only way to do it was by doing business or climbing up the corporate ladder, which I had little interest because I hate sales talk and corporate politics.
3. "I wish you nothing but the best."
- Only based on their definition of "best" at the expense
At this point in life, letting people know I'm gay, or asserting to other people I'm gay, is not important anymore. Why allow other people to judge and gossip about you?
@filchichubs I just say that girls now are too overpowering and materialistic, as seen in real life and on social media. So do they want their son to be a victim of these unreasonable girls? (playing the victim card hahaha)
