Debating CA's biggest issues: Housing. Taxes. Crime. Homelessness. One Democrat (Jay), one Republican (Amanda), both centrists. New politics, pragmatic people.
@mnolangray It’s even more wild that Californians, if you ask them tomorrow, will have zero memory of electing this person or that the role of Insurance Commissioner even exists.
@ChronoMelees@gratwickfilms@immad Countermeasure!
Proposition 67: A prohibition on a dragon-slaying, especially the slaying of dragons that were created by voter mandate prior to 2020. This poison pill measure would supersede all concurrent dragon-related measures on the same ballot.”
@jakeonrails@JaneKim I completely agree. Not only are we going to feel the impacts of her decisions for a decade to come, most Californians are not even going to really understand what happened or how it happened. They're just going to see skyrocketing rates and a system collapse.
@Justin_G0rd0n These results (along with the june primary results which showed Pratt in 2nd place) are a good reminder that polls in LA leading up to Election Day tends to skew more moderate/conservative than actual election results.
@rpyers It's technically too close to call, but my gut says that Jane Kim has it. She's up in both SF and LA; there's nowhere Ben Allen has enough of a lead to make up the ~200k vote delta.
I'm also going to call it (against my will and happiness) for Jane Kim in the Insurance Commissioner race. It is technically too close to call, but she's leading in both LA County and SF County; and so I just don't see any where Ben Allen can make up the delta.
This lady crashed the housing pipeline for San Francisco a decade ago and now she’s going to crash like anything that requires home or auto insurance in the entire state of California.
We're calling it right now - this is not enough of a lead for Karen Bass to hold onto being Mayor. @nithyavraman is going to probably surpass her in coming days with the late ballot counting. Progressives vote late and the DSA ballot harvesting machine dumps ballots on Election Day.
@PAngelsfan@nithyavraman whoa whoa, no one was offering to pay you. This fake account doesn't have that kind of $$$. We're not the billionaire mods, we're just the trolling mods.
It's Election Night at 7:51PM Pacific. There's been a blue wave that has swept Texas, the House, and the Senate. And the craziest thing is we still don't know who is LA's next mayor BECAUSE CA POLLS HAVEN'T CLOSED. And it'll take a week after that to count all the ballots.
