Speaking in Abuja while hosting a delegation of economic stakeholders, the party leader stated that public discourse regarding petroleum subsidies must transcend political campaign promises and be evaluated based on historical economic disruptions, fiscal strain on public reserves, and negative consequences for sub-national entities.

The political executive stressed that removing subventions from refined fuel allowed the administration to redirect public resources toward essential developmental commitments, including higher education grants, critical infrastructure investments, and increased federal revenue allocations that enabled state governments to meet salary obligations. He warned that reversing structural reforms would strip funding from these priority sectors and compromise the financial capacity of both federal and state authorities to maintain public services.
