“I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes, this makes planning my day difficult.” - E.B. White
Such a great thread. And so few people understand that options were there—but literally NOT available for blacks. Media has failed in this regard—we rarely get the opportunity to truly explain civil rights struggles beyond ‘equality’ and ‘MLK’
The policing of women’s bodies must end. The “respect” that’s needed is for the exceptional talent @serenawilliams brings to the game. Criticizing what she wears to work is where the true disrespect lies. https://t.co/ioyP9VTCxM
@Lesdoggg True, you’re only hurting yourself if you’re mad ALL the time & there’s a difference between a real offense and pretending to be offended to support ones own prejudice. Let’s also acknowledge that many in our society have valid reasons to be angry & fight.Dont give up those fights
“When something tries to grow forever within a healthy, thriving system, it’s a threat to the whole. Why do we imagine our economies can buck this trend and grow forever?” It’s Time To Abandon Economic Growth As The Only Indicator Of Success https://t.co/WeX9URNL5G
I just can't let this go. There are actually national journalists tonight raising more hell over comic telling a joke about eyeshadow than a "president" telling athletes with disabilities they're "hard to watch".
The sheer cowardice on display is mind-blowing.

Just a reminder that figures like Kanye and Diamond & Silk are given the spotlight in this way not to win over the vast majority of Black ppl who are offended by it, but to help mostly white Trump supporters claim that racism isn't an issue
Seriously, when I read Hunger Games my boyfriend said how ridiculous it all was and asked how would a world like that even start. Even back then my reply was “by doing exactly what we’re doing now” https://t.co/D8ghfaCTL7
“While it is true that many Black women are, indeed, strong, that does not mean they are invulnerable. That does not mean their strength is infinite. That does not mean that their strength is absolute. That does not mean that Black women aren’t exhausted.”

“In the end only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.” -Buddha. *I’m working on that last one.
