@1a Teaching 1st year college students, just out of high school, the deficit that impedes deep learning is a sacred allegiance to opinion. No seeming difference b/w personal opinion & the reasoned (fallible) claims of experts. Some members of Congress fail to know the difference.
Breath Prayer of the Day: "Out of the depths, O God, bring life, and justice, and meaning." (Inspired by Genesis 1) Repeat as you think through any and all aspects of your day and the events in our world, feeling free to modify at will..."Out of your love, O God..."
Can I get a witness? Nah, I'm good. There's a reason the prophets were reluctant to speak. Even if you can get past your fear of the powerful women and men that you expose, the fear of God remains, and that is a good and awe-ful reality.
The nuance and danger of condemnation: it involves speaking in the name of God - whether and however G-d is named. The fool condemns freely! The wise one condemns in fear and trembling of the God of whom she is a witness.

Perhaps, you and Amanda could write alternative funeral liturgies for the Book of Common Prayer that are in keeping with your political theologies and the realities of mass violence in 21st century America!
Life is an unforeseeable tapestry of connections. When violence tears into its threads, it is difficult to imagine how the torn pieces can be mended. Perhaps, our only consolation is to carry our sorrows and hopes into the Unforeseeable.
Jesus is the revelation of God: he is the one who has seen the Father, and he has come so that people may have life and have it to the full.
Do I feel nourished by this bread of life, this revelation by Jesus of who God is? https://t.co/iNuKyWiRT3 #Scripture#BreadofLife
