@Se_Railway My frustration is that the announcement came when I was already on the train - halfway to my destination - and didn't make a stop so that I could get off to take a different route. I've now had to travel to Dartford and double back.
@Se_Railway on the 08:03am to Gravesend. I got on at London Victoria. We are just about to get to Kidbrooke. Suddenly it's announced that the train is only going to run to Dartford. This is absolutely ridiculous!!! I need to get to Bexleyheath and can't get off anywhere to divert
@Se_Railway what is the reason that the 08:03am gravesend via bexleyheath won't be running to Bexleyheath? Will the 08:33am gravesend via bexleyheath be running to bexleyheath?

In the name of fighting antisemitism, the Congress just voted to sanction (among other jurists) Theodor Meron, a literal Holocaust survivor, former Israeli Ambassador to Canada and President of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
(Meron was one of the experts Karim Khan consulted before formally seeking the warrants, and - on a standard of clear and convincing evidence - called for Khan to seek warrants for Netanyahu's and Gallant's arrest, for the use of starvation as a weapon of war and murder.)
Sibusiso Lawrence is no outlier, no exception, no rare oddity. South Africa has the one of highest rates of GBV in the world. It has one of highest rates of femicide in the world at nearly five times the global average
Sibusiso is a symptom of a great societal disease. He is the abusers 60% of women in South Africa are killed by intimate partners. I looked for his victims name, but she is only referred to as “girlfriend” and not by her name, because she is, perhaps unintentionally seen as a face, a number, yet another woman.
Sibusiso is not a “monster.” He is the men that 1 in 3 women have reported experiencing physical or sexual violence from a partner. He is many fathers, brothers, uncles, cousins, and neighbours who are abusers. And whose actions are often met with secrecy or a blind eye, and when they eventually murder, hands wrung in shock like the signs were not there.
I don’t profess to have all the answers, but I do know this: none of this will change until patriarchy, misogyny, and rape culture are fundamentally uprooted. Any actions that are not specifically targeted at addressing these deep-seated issues are mere band-aids on a gushing aorta. It requires law enforcement, yes. But it also requires a whole-of-society approach where churches, communities, civil society, and individuals - everyone focuses on changing how women are viewed.
Your young sons will become the next Sibusiso if you aren’t raising them to respect women.
I hope Sibusiso Lawrence spurs this action.
