@ThePOTSPostman This is one of the things I hate about filling in PIP paperwork or enduring a f-to-f... listing all the things you no longer do at all, the adaptations to do things you do still manage... its like day to day we kid ourselves it isn't that bad & then we're confronted with it.
"There's no way you can write a ten page paper without chatGPT"
WE COULD LITERALLY DO EVERYTHING THAT EVER HAPPENED IN HUMAN HISTORY WITHOUT CHATGPT WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.
It's not often I retweet the DWP, but this confirms everything we've been saying for months. The narrative of 'spiralling claims' was bollocks, the vast majority are just people moving from one part of the system to another.
The older I get, the more I understand people who move to the countryside, grow their own vegetables, get a dog, and only talk to about three people. That life gets more appealing every year
This isnt about disability - this is the only benefit available for people too sick to work, after stat sick pay/employment sick pay has been exhausted.
That could be for the rest of your life.
This matters to every person in the UK.
This is your safety net if you become sick.
@OctopusEnergy Hey, for a while now my app has been saying "something went wrong" when I try and look at daily or weekly usage. Can see the graphs ok on monthly and yearly.
Reminder: LCWRA are Not jobseekers. Gov isn't supposed to be making them engage with work, its not a condition of getting the award. They've been assessed by the DWP as having 'Limited capacity to engage with work or work related activity' due to severe illness/ disability/risk.
So damn wiped out.
Chronic fatigue doesn’t just make you “tired.” It eats your day in slow motion.
You wake up already exhausted.
Basic tasks cost hours of recovery.
Plans disappear before they even begin. You end up on the couch wondering wtf happened to your life while the world moves on without you.
People don’t see the fight just to stay upright.
And they’ll still say: you’re not trying hard enough.
i think it’s okay to enjoy things when the world around you is terrible. it’s actually incredibly important to have something to look forward to, something to bring you joy. hope is literally vital.
One way to explain the lack of energy with chronic illness(es) is The Spoon Theory. But another way I could describe it is all the breaks I need. When I was healthier I didn’t need a break after:
A phone call
Writing a text/email
Making a decision
Taking a shower
Eating a meal
Getting dressed
Etc
It can be very frustrating needing so many breaks but with the fatigue that often comes with chronic illness(es), you can’t help it.
