Anyways, I have made a covenant with my Creator that this woman as long her purpose on earth is to challenge "women stereotypes", I won't be found saying certain prayers🫶.

The EU has invited Taliban officials to Brussels to discuss a migration deal — and today I am shaken and deeply disturbed by this.
This is the same Taliban that banned girls from secondary schools and forced them into marriage. The same Taliban that, earlier this month, arrested dozens of women in Herat for how they were dressed. The same Taliban that detains, beats and executes women who dare to speak out or break their rules.
Through its system of gender apartheid, the Taliban have erased women and girls from public life. Europe must not legitimise a regime responsible for one of the worst human rights crises in the world.
Any engagement with the Taliban must begin and end with the rights of Afghan women and girls.
Some of you need to become very okay with the idea that feminism is a form of disobedience. I want for some of you to understand that fighting for your rights to be seen as a human being is a form of disobedience in this misogynistic patriarchal capitalistic society

It gets to a point where you’ve just got to stop correcting bad behavior and simply end the relationship.
Else, you’ll be in a constant loop of complain > reconcile > bad pattern repeats itself > complain > reconcile…
It is important to always know your STI status.

LRT. Not to be a rabble-rouser, but I think a lot of this stems from the fact that some people simply don’t like Adichie anymore because of her politics. That inevitably colours how they assess her work and legacy because someone saying you can’t be a writer and reader in Nigeria and you haven’t read Half of a Yellow Sun shouldn’t have this much outrage. Chimamanda has earned her place in the canon the same way many celebrated contemporary authors in other jurisdictions have. Respect to our contemporary Nigerian authors, but I doubt many of them would even want to be compared against Chimamanda at this stage. A good number attended her workshops, benefited from her mentorship, and have openly acknowledged her influence on their careers. She has shaped a generation of writers. One of one.
