The collapse of OpenAI should have a similar impact on talent as Lehman Brothers in 2008:

Just about anyone who’s worked on Wall Street, has worked with someone that was at Lehman.

Lehman Collapsed, in part, because of bad decisions by people at the top.

However, the vast majority of the Lehman bankers were smart people.

Just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

After the collapse, this talent was distributed to other banks on Wall Street, adding talent everywhere.

The collapse of OpenAI is going to have a similar effect.

Some of the smartest AI engineers in the world will move all across Silicon Valley.

The result will be even faster advancement of AI and more competition.

This is AI’s Lehman moment.
