THE CONSTRUCTION OF BURKINA FASO’S FIRST HIGHWAY LAUNCHED.

The project of the Ouagadougou - Bobo Dioulasso highway, which was inherited, was initially a two by two - lanes (2X2) road with costly foreign financing that would burden future generations.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré made the decision to build a four-lane in each direction (4X2) highway, trusting young engineers and the potential of Burkinabè, and funded by national resources.

The President also expressed the goal to connect all regional capitals with highways.

This dude is talking like an agent of the colonizers. 😂 Every country and continent studies its history. Europeans never stop talking about Rome, the world wars or the Holocaust, but when Africans study slavery and colonialism, suddenly it’s “victim mentality.”

There’s nothing in that book telling Africans to sit around crying. Walter Rodney explains how slavery, colonial extraction and European control shaped Africa’s economy. He even argued that Africans had a responsibility to understand that system and change it.

You can disagree with parts of the book, but pretending history has nothing to do with the present is pure stupidity. How can Africa fix its economic system without understanding how that system was built?

Knowing who exploited you isn’t victimhood. Refusing to understand it just makes you easier to exploit again.

Traoré hasn’t even been in power for four full years, yet Burkina Faso has already taken five gold assets into state ownership, tightened its mining laws, increased gold production from 61 tonnes in 2024 to 94 tonnes in 2025 and recorded estimated economic growth of 5.3%.

And the achievements aren’t limited to gold. Burkina Faso has been investing in roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, housing, agriculture, electricity and local industry. The government has pushed infrastructure projects, expanded public services, supported domestic production and launched initiatives aimed at reducing dependence on foreign companies and imports. It has also focused on food security, irrigation, cotton and agricultural development, while directing more resources toward national reconstruction and internally displaced people.

The AES has also gone from an idea to an actual confederation with a common passport, joint military force and its own development bank with 500 billion CFA francs in capital. They’re discussing monetary sovereignty too, although a common currency hasn’t launched yet.

So yes, they’ve actually done something. You’re comparing less than four years of AES development to decades of failure across Africa. At least let them finish building the damn system first. 😂

But go ahead and keep praying to white Jesus for better democracy. Maybe one day ECOWAS will finally launch the Eco currency, and somehow still find a way to keep it tied to Europe. 😂😂
