These 3 musketeers have succeeded in setting the fight against terrorism in the Sahel 12 years back to 2014....

They came with the assurance of ending the cycle of violence in the Sahel...

Expectedly....The mass of people across the 3 nations...welcomed them with fanfare....

The poor and vulnerable love hope...and populists opportunist knows how to serve it to them like opium...

The Sahel violence is not only a threat to the three Musketeers nations... but to all of West Africa....

That was why Tinubu wanted to cut them off from Niger....but as usual...the North East and North West choose to play politics with their security....

They attempted to replicate same stunt in Benin republic to become 4 Musketeers...

But Tinubu wasted no time in sweeping them back .... the South West as usual backed the president..... common-sense over politics....

Choosing to hand the Sahel security to Russia is their worst mistake...

Russia need help than even the Sahel states and won't reject having Sahel states soldiers help them against pummelling from Ukraine...

In the last 3 years Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali have lost over 1000 soldiers according to official figures...

With analyst believing it could be more than double...
including thousands of civilian deaths...

Today Mali is under terrorists siege.... Burkina Faso is boiling...Niger is under fire with terrorists hitting airports...

Unfortunately these Terrorists have made incursion into Benin, Togo, Ghana and Ivory coast.....

A hostile leader in a terrorist dominated nation close to our borders is a threat to all of us.... Tinubu secured Benin.... but politics and tribalism kept the terrorists in Niger.....

The gunfire had not stopped for hours.

Deep in the forest, frightened teachers held students close, whispering prayers they hoped Heaven could still hear. Every child wanted to go home. Every parent was still waiting for a phone call that never came.

The rescue team knew there was only one chance.

As they advanced, the officer leading the mission looked back at his men and said quietly, "No child should die wondering if help is coming."

Moments later, the forest erupted.

Bullets flew in every direction. The soldiers pushed forward, shielding civilians with their own bodies. One after another, the teachers and students were led to safety.

Then the radio crackled.

"The civilians are safe… Keep moving… Don’t come back for me."

Silence.

When the mission ended, every teacher was counting students. Parents were embracing children through tears.

But one family was waiting for someone who would never walk through the door again.

A soldier had given everything so that strangers could return home.

We often celebrate freedom without knowing the price someone else paid for it.

Today and Tonight, before you sleep peacefully with your family, remember those who stood between innocent lives and danger.
