@ripienaar I used https://t.co/eNXHMmxQlz, but they’ve got a waitlist ATM due to a surge in new signups. It’s run by https://t.co/sMUe0uRGWn. Other than that, there’s a list of hosts on the Mastodon website
lmao Twitter built the "this mf paid for twitter" meme right into its paid Twitter Blue subscription
if you click a blue checkmark on a user's profile, it'll show you if they were given one as an actual notable user
or
it'll show you that this mf paid for twitter
@QuinnyPig If 750ish MBit would work, I tend to shill something like https://t.co/9iCspFtFjJ - easy to work with and pretty flexible. Mostly that’s ‘cos I find Mikrotik thoroughly mindbending to work with though.
@noelsharpe It’ll probably take a change of government to properly calm things down, but replacing Truss with someone a bit less keen to experiment with exciting economic theory would be a start
@TheRealRevK @OrdnanceSurvey The OS Maps app does let you share links, and can create them offline though it seems to use GPS rather than grid reference in the URL (the OS locate app seems to share the same links)
This is Chris "failing" Grayling MP for Epsom and Ewell. Chris voted against legislation that would have stopped raw sewage from being pumped into our rivers and seas. Chris is a 💩Don't be like Chris #ToriesOut46#TorySewageParty#SewageScandal
@noelsharpe @booshtukka I’d agree that burning UK gas is better than Russian, but burning no gas would be even better than that. Not really sure where fracking comes into it TBH, we’re already exporting gas so not convinced that slightly higher production would meaningfully impact prices
@noelsharpe I’d not looked into the impact of the green levy before, since it’s a pretty small part of why bills are so high. A quick look online (https://t.co/o4ucnDWgWD) suggests that the levy has funded efficiency savings of around £290/year for the poorest households
@noelsharpe I think there’s two separate issues: one is net zero, where I’d agree that the UK acting alone will make very little difference; and renewable energy, where it feels like there’s significant (potential) advantages in terms of energy cost and security.
@noelsharpe I don’t really know if there’s a better time to discuss net zero than during an energy crisis. Yes there are costs, but failing to work on the problem is only going to store up worse issues for the future. Protecting the poorest and the future should both be possible
@SwiftOnSecurity The phone number feels like the mor important thing there - email spam filters are way ahead of SMS/phone. Totally worth getting a prepay SIM or VoIP number that you don’t mind ditching if it starts getting junk
@ripienaar Yeah, in this case DNS was updated via an auto scaling hook. I was really glad we did a thing to put all the hosts with a certain role into a single A record, turns out it’s useful for lots of random things.
