AMD, Nvidia and so many others in key positions do have the means to influence the consumer pricing of DRAM, even if a little. I don't know how, but it would be odd if they, exactly like the end user, were completely at the mercy of DRAM IC vendors.
@facegamefps I know, but not a single kit I have can do this across multiple vendor memory sticks. XPG Lancer, Corsair Vengeance, G.Skill Trident, Kingston Fury, etc. all 8000+ kits, none can. Again would not hurt to try.
These could be very interesting IC's. 1.1v for 8000MT/s is remarkable, I've not come across any kit yet that can do this at such a low voltage regardless of timings.
Tested Heterogeneous Thread Scheduling Policy on the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K in Fortnite using PowerSettingsExplorer to get most out of the hybrid CPU uArch on our custom powerplan.
- Fully Forcing it to P-cores only and it actually drops to 365.
- Let it use all cores with efficient short-run scheduling and it jumps to 531 with very low STDEV (frame to frame variance)🚀
Thread assignment on hybrid CPUs matters more than most people realize
Key takeaway: forcing P-cores only on a hybrid CPU is actually Counterproductive.
To replicate this on your intel CPU:
- Download PowerSettingsExplorer
- Go to Processor Power Management section
- Set "Heterogeneous Thread Scheduling Policy" → all processors
- Set "Heterogeneous Short Running Thread Scheduling Policy" → Prefer efficient processors
Very interesting info & while not related, I found that if I'm to sacrifice cores for frequency/power or thermals. It's better to sacrifice the limited P-Core(s), than turning off E-cores or reducing their frequency. A lot of apps & games are saturating at least 1 core in all E-core clusters.
@facegamefps I'm talking specifically for the ICs. There's not a single DDR5 Kit I have that can do this frequency at this voltage. So I do think voltage matters, but the only way to find out is to test the memory and see what it can do.
Corsair 3200D RS PC Build and review, available from @wootware with @ASUS_za TUF Gaming Z890 Plus WIFI and TUF Gaming GeForce RTX GPU also available at Wootware. https://t.co/2VsKGNUxDe
Finally got around updating my overclocking history web page a bit this weekend.
Still a WIP and slowly starting to migrate things over. But at least I can now list sources and easily attach images for reference.

Unlocked Core Ultra 3 CPU would be awesome and most welcome. No risk to higher end SKUs as E-Core count really does make a performance difference, even in games.
