I never said I hate beauty. I never said Sweeney shouldn’t get paid. I never said the ad was worse than Clancy. I never “praised ugliness.” You made that up so you could scream jealousy and dodge the actual point.

That’s a straw man plus a motive smear. You couldn’t deal with the post, so you assigned me a take I didn’t write and knocked that down instead.

I challenged the take that was posted. Naming two different problems is not changing the subject. “Two famous women, which is worse” was your collapse. I didn’t say Sweeney was worse than Clancy. I said both are an issue. You made it about fame, money, and who got hated so “which is worse” could stay easy.

That ranking isn’t my argument. It’s yours. You collapsed two different problems so one concern could be treated as illegitimate.

I’m raising a daughter. I don’t want her thinking sexual objectification for the visual stimulation of perverts on the internet is a good option in life. I also, equally, don’t want her thinking she can ever kill someone and say a voice made her do it.

Both of those matter. One does not cancel the other. “Which is worse” is only easy if you’re trying to tell women what they’re allowed to be bothered by.

That’s the argument. A false dichotomy dressed up as moral ranking. Two different harms get forced into one question so one can beat the other. That’s the whole trick.

Those are not two answers to the same question. One does not cancel the other. They’re equally worse. They are not the same kind of worse.

The ad is the over-sexualization of women. A body used to sell. That is horrible.

Lindsay Clancy is three dead children and a fight over criminal responsibility. That is horrible.

One is culture and commerce. The other is a homicide case. I can think both are bad for women without putting them on the same scoreboard.

This didn’t set women back. This is the same thing that has been doing it for years.
Most of what you listed is a symptom: men are easy to sell with a woman’s body, so we keep doing it. OnlyFans didn’t start that. It harvested it.
No one said she isn’t pretty. It’s a sexual ad, not an innocent one. The damage I’m worried about is what that teaches our daughters.
