#SurvivingEpstein hears firsthand from brave survivors who have experienced grooming and sexual abuse. You can be there for children in your life by being prepared to spot the warning signs. @RAINN

If I was a high school band director who cared more about my ego than the actual students in my program, I would:
✅ Proceed with band camp even during a deadly pandemic
✅ Keep it quiet when I found out multiple band directors who worked for me were sexually preying on students

Adding statutory rape to this list. If no one wants to ever make a movie or tv show again where a teacher and student “date” that would be awesome, thx
@BethPeters80@DGNScience@jennedehm @MrBronke @JorieBurtnette@BrayerTeague @cwhite43 @jschwarzeteach Not only that, last year Brayer had a title IX complaint filed against him for sexual harassment by a former student. Sent his lawyer to a school board meeting to badmouth the person who made it. “Good colleagues” protect 1 another I’m sure
Appalled at how some news outlets report on sexual abuse of adolescent girls/women. Would 14- 15-year old boys preyed on by adult teachers, be described this way? No, the @nytimes reports on pedophile scandals involving boys depict them properly as victims not as sex partners.
NYT: "Mr. Epstein paid cash to dozens of girls, some of them as young as 14 or 15, to give him nude massages that often ended in masturbation, oral sex or, in at least one case, rape." No, they "ended" in criminal sexual abuse of minors. Pls NYT stop calling crime, "encounters."
“I was a bald binge drinker and Natalie Portman was a beautiful movie star. But here she was in my dressing room, flirting with me. I was 33 and she was 20 but this was her world.” It's gross how Moby thinks he can frame an 18 year old girl (NOT 20) as the one with all the power.
This hit home for me because my gym teacher at @DownersNorth was rumored to be dating my classmate. Another classmate told me about him touching her knee and commenting about how clean shaven it was. This teacher is now married to my former classmate and still coaches badminton
Most students don't know about Title IX coordinators, so they go to places like Reddit when they see their classmates being preyed upon. Why don't schools make info about what to do readily available? Because they're still pretending it's not an issue at every school, everywhere.
Austin Jones, a YouTube star from the Chicago suburbs, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for coercing underage girls to perform sexually explicit dances during online chats https://t.co/kE93fgXbIT
10th grade at Marjory Stoneman Douglas, I had an older male teacher who constantly flirted with me, called me hot, & would reference me as his wife. I can not imagine him and other male teachers with a firearm & the danger this law puts female students in. https://t.co/TgEsj3gZjG
JUST IN: Shane Piche, the 25-year-old pleaded guilty to raping a 14-year-old girl he met while driving her school bus, will spend the next 10 years on probation. https://t.co/8Pw1fOTjQM
