@TheRetro32UK I've never understood how this works π The LED is active low, so it never goes off because the 3.3v cards don't get above 3.7v to switch it off. I read about the resistor, tried it but it didn't work for me and I can't work out why it ever would. Does it work for you?
@RMCRetro I had the Astra pack, a common bundle with the A500 from independent shops. I don't think there really were any stinkers, but I remember Shufflepuck Cafe and Tower of Babel getting most play. And the Kid Gloves sample lives rent free in my brain 30+ years later.
@AntRDean 6 months warranty it seems so might be worth calling them to ask if that affects the 5 year manufacturer one which you normally register for. They also do pickup from Castle Donington if you want to inspect it first if you're talking about the one at Appliances Direct.
@AntRDean Sadly it's not a direct drive, they're all a bit more expensive. But it's an inverter motor so pretty quiet. Also I imagine it will play the Samsung Tune which let's face it is the most important thing
@AntRDean Right I've sorted it for you, you're welcome. Samsung WW90CGC04 - Β£399 at Argos or Currys, or Appliances Online have got it at Β£379 or Β£319 if you want a refurbished one. 9KG, 1400rpm, 5 year warranty (20 years on the motor), A rated for energy and noise. BOOM.
@AntRDean Our last Indesit only lasted a few years and the drum is now a fire pit in the garden. Hotpoint are the same manufacturer. IKEA stuff is pretty good for the price, made by Whirlpool usually.
@AntRDean My vote would be Samsung. Get one with a direct drive motor and you get a 10 year warranty on the motor, and they're virtually silent. Money no object, get a Miele which will stand alongside cockroaches come the apocalypse. Beko good, Hisense and Grundig too.
@therealh0ffman@RMCRetro Literally the one thing I was sure of, the one thing I said on Discord, is "It wasn't Octamed as I'd remember that".
Pillock is wrong again :D
