I think most of the definitions of a project would agree with this but I want to make sure we don't forget the planning and effort parts

A working def of a project I will use is: an event that has a defined start and end that uses planned effort to produce a defined result

Needless to say, there are several definitions that will fit as defining what a project is and what a project is not

Online dictionary definition: a plan or proposal or a scheme or an undertaking requiring concerted effort

Rita Mulcahy's definition: (paraprashed) a temp event with a beginning and end that produces a unique product, service or result

Wikipedia definition: from the Latin work projectum and actually originally meant something that comes before anything else happens

PMBOK definition: it is a temporary endeavor undertakend to create a unique product, service or result and it has a beginning and end

What is a Project? The answer can be varied and dependent upon the industry you find yourself in but there are some standard definitions

So lets start out with the PMBOK and use that as our guide - these tweets are both a review for the PMP as well as a refresh to all PMP PMs
