My latest: The WNBA’s longevity and success has never depended on bending the rules for a single player, and it shouldn’t start now. https://t.co/4sm8XObakK
Phoenix Mercury’s coach, Nate Tibbetts, addressing Alyssa Thomas suspension
“I’m disappointed with the suspension process by our league and our leaders in the W. This was not a thorough investigation in my opinion. The people involved were not questioned at all”

Wait, so almost all AT's teammates saying they got her back. Where are the posts of Caitlin Clark's teammates, coaches and FO saying they got her back? @IndianaFever@WNBA@CaitlinClark22#Noticing
@ashleyschendel I’m a diehard cowboys fan. Regardless of the time/day they are playing, I make sure I’m in front of a tv at kickoff. I’ve been this way my whole life. For the first time ever I’m the same way with CC/Fever. Prior to CC I never and I mean never watched a wnba game. I won’t tonight
Face of the league and top scorer are not the same. If Aja is the face of the league, why don’t her games bring the number of viewers CC does? And the Angel vs Caitlin thing doesn’t hold water either. CC’s games all had high numbers. The truth is that Angel benefited from CC. I do agree about it being race driven. How can you say her numbers were down? I don’t think you’ve watched a game or looked at the stats.
@river_dusty I didn’t watch Jordan because of his race. I didn’t watch Tiger because of his race. Why would it matter if CC is white? There was nothing like watching Tiger in his prime. I didn’t want to miss a shot. I feel the same about Caitlin and it is because she’s an electric player.
@ambrosefontaine@WNBA@Fanatics 💯 I truly believe they would rather go back to the way things used to be and have their league with an agenda over a league making money.
I find this hard to stomach. But I believe it. What’s crazier for me is I don’t think Caitlin would ask for the max. I think she wants to win. But if you look at the way they’ve drafted and vets added, it doesn’t look like they know what they’re doing.
Why would the Fever be actively trying to suppress Caitlin?
Simple answer: Money
The Fever exercised their 4th year option on Caitlin in April
If Caitlin won MVP this season, she would be eligible to make the Supermax in 2027, fully 20% of the Fever's entire salary cap in 2027
On the topic of Stephanie White - I don't know what's going to happen, if she'll get fired or not. I do know that there needs to be roster changes regardless if the Fever want to go far.
One a different note, I'm about to watch this interview that was sent to me - someone interviewed a Vanderbilt player who played when Stephanie was coaching there. Curious to see what she said.
